A very rare edition of the comedy "I Suppositi" by Ludovico Ariosto (1474-1533). Composed in 1508 and performed in February 1509, it is based on impersonations and misunderstandings, in imitation of Terence's "The Eunuch" and Plautus's "The Captives."

Comedy by Lodovico Ariosto entitled Li Soppositi, Venice, Agustino de Bendoni, 1542.

PP.: 32 (numbered only on the recto). The original title page is missing, replaced by a facsimile copy, otherwise COMPLETE (the text on the verso of the title page is missing).

Copy with cards in overall good/very good condition, with the outer margin a little trimmed.

19th-century softcover in marbled cardboard, very well preserved.
