Collection of 26 Antique Iron Keys (1850–1900)
A fascinating assortment of original iron keys dating from the mid-19th to early-20th century, all discovered in a historic notary’s office located in the heart of Florence, Italy. This rare and varied collection carries the authentic charm of old Florentine palaces and working spaces.
Provenance:
These keys were found in a traditional Florentine notary’s studio. According to their size and type, they were used in different parts of the building:
Largest keys (up to 15 cm): used for the main entrance doors of the palazzo.
Medium-sized keys: likely used for the interior doors of the notary’s office.
Small and miniature keys (from 2.5 cm): typically used for writing desks, small chests, safeboxes, and antique lockboxes.
