Brass wall nautical bell from Germany, mid-20th century.
It is a casting piece made of polished brass, with an internal clapper and a braided hemp rope, featuring traditional maritime design. The set includes a square support designed for firm anchoring to surfaces. Bell-shaped or inverted cup, with a body that broadens toward the mouth to optimize resonance. The metal has a smooth surface and its structure is functional and robust, emphasizing its utilitarian tool character.
Historically, it was used for acoustic signaling, marking watches or notices on boats and coastal stations. Today, its main use is interior decoration with a maritime or rustic theme.
