Brief biography of the author
Vicente Soler Pallardó (Spain, 20th century) was a painter specializing in genre scenes, seascapes, and still lifes linked to the Mediterranean fishing world. His work is characterized by detailed brushwork, a warm treatment of light, and a special sensitivity for capturing the everyday life of coastal villages. He often depicted utensils, boats, and maritime environments with remarkable fidelity, becoming a reference within Valencian regional painting, where he developed most of his career.
The composition depicts a maritime still life arranged on the deck of a vessel situated on the shore. In the center, various freshly caught fish — including mackerels and red mullets — are displayed alongside several shellfish. The chromatic treatment and realistic texture highlight the freshness of the catch.
On the right, a metallic cube filled with water gently reflects the light, while a basket of esparto, typical of fishing labor, naturally integrates into the scene. In the background, the beach with boats, nets, and tools of the trade is visible, alongside a calm sea where small vessels sail. The warm, typically Mediterranean lighting envelops the scene in a serene and traditional atmosphere, very representative of the author's style.
The painting is presented in a classic carved wooden frame with ornate moldings and an aged gold finish, in keeping with the traditional theme of the work.
The frame comes as a gift. It may be damaged during transport even if it is properly packaged.
