Vintage religious triptych entirely made of carved wood, hand-painted with oil, lacquered, and signed by the artist. Russian Mstera Triptych of Vladimirskaya Mother of God.
A Russian Orthodox lacquered hand-painted Mstera school triptych icon, assembled by Vladimirskaya Mother of God. The central panel shows a finely painted image of the Mother of God of Vladimir and Jesus Christ above, with a gilt cross on the top. The wings depict John the Baptist in monkish attire inside, and Archangels Gabriel and Michael on the outside. Inscribed in Cyrillic on the back side: Mstera, artist signed. 27x20 cm, the open width - 33 cm total.
