A sophisticated and substantial French pair of bookends executed in the timeless Art Deco style, dating from the 1930s. These pieces showcase the hallmark Art Deco love for geometric form, luxurious materials, and sharp contrast.
Material:
Crafted from two striking types of natural stone, marble and onyx. One section features a rich, mottled reddish-brown marble with prominent, dynamic white veining. The contrasting section is made of a solid, sleek dark/black stone.
Design:
The design is strictly geometric, presenting a strong, rectangular profile. A subtle, yet elegant horizontal band of light, contrasting onyx stone separates the dark sections, emphasizing the modernist aesthetic which flourished during the Jazz Age (1920s–1930s).
Finish:
