Nothing could deter Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva from one day making their own wine, a fruit of their professional experience and their relationship. This talented couple decided to create the company Wine & Soul in 2001, simultaneously acquiring 2.5 hectares of old vines, over 70 years old and with dozens of grape varieties, which would give rise to their first wine, named Pintas. The choice of this name stems from the fact that they both arrived home with numerous spots of must on their shirts after a day harvesting or in the cellar. Today, Pintas is one of the biggest stars in the Portuguese wine firmament and a true symphony of old vines. The couple's objective is to create wines that express the full character of the old vines and indigenous grape varieties of the Douro, seeking a balance between concentration, complexity, and elegance.
