The statue is in perfect condition. It has no defects.
Splendid bronze replica of the famous Pompeii statue. An immortal work of art to embellish your home.
The faun or satyr is a male figure with thick hair and beard, with strong and sinuous muscles. A flowing tail appears on his back: the satyr is, in fact, a mythological creature halfway between human and animal.
The original statue, dating back to the 1st/2nd century BC, was found in the House of the Faun, one of the most extraordinary Pompeian finds. The satyr was supposed to adorn the ancient impluvium of the building - a basin designed to collect rainwater.
His particular pose, with his left arm and leg tense and his right arm and leg flexed, seems to hint at a dance step.
