Decorative ornament (10) - Images of Saints - Spain

The ten images depict saints, each portrayed individually in a classic pictorial style. They are framed in aged gold wood, giving them a solemn and ornamental appearance. Each saint appears dressed in tunics and cloaks inspired by the Bible, in intense and contrasting colors. Some hold books, scrolls, staffs, or crosses, suggesting they could be apostles, evangelists, or important figures in Christianity. The expressions are serene, with introspective or elevated gazes, and the elongated proportions of the bodies recall the style of El Greco.

The arrangement of the images on the wall forms a cross, which reinforces their devotional character. Although each painting is unique, they all share a stylistic coherence that makes them a harmonious series, probably conceived as a whole from the outset.
