A very fine antique master 4/4 violin, labeled Gaetano Chiocchi fece in Padova 1875. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some tears and wears but no cracks to the corpus, old repaired crack to the scroll, new ebony set up and new bridge. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and one piece back of interesting flamed wood with matched sides and scroll. Very rich amber color varnish over golden ground. The whole length of the violin is 586 mm and the back 355 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 171 mm; middle bouts: 117 mm; lower bouts: 211 mm. The sound is very good, powerful, deep, rich, suitable for soloist. Shipping worldwide insured
