Alain Donate Hernández is a contemporary Cuban visual artist based in Galicia, Spain. His work ranges from magical realism, expressionist surrealism, landscape and abstractionism to contemporary figuration. All his work is related by a very marked and very personal style through a language constructed by color, texture, characters unfolded in forms that open a magical and empathetic dialogue between the elements of the work and the viewer. The great Spanish art critic (Gregorio Vigil Escalera) would say of his work in his blog Vivencias plásticos "Alain Donate: Art as knowledge, as testimony, as force, as feeling and emotion, as enigma and cultural value. The untidy, naked before the environment. For me, the landscape is a totally exploratory field, where the accidental and spontaneous take on a semi-orderly form, a kind of chaos and beauty. My work with the environment is to play with the forces of evolution and creation, like a simulation of the Big Bang, where the clumsily and intentionally shaped materials gave rise to a multiverse and variable aesthetic result. My intention is to follow this evolutionary process through my emotional filter. In the case of the landscape, it produces in me a state of untidy, aggressive, and violent, but at the same time, a state of contemplation, and above all, of freedom and constant exploration. These landscapes are included in the 30th issue of the art magazine: Cdecuba artmagazine.
