Artist description – Udo Kaller
Udo Kaller, born in 1943 in Gleiwitz, Upper Silesia, is one of the important German artists of constructive and figurative-structured visual language. After training as a lithographer, he studied at the academies of fine arts in Munich and Nuremberg. Since 1972, he has been working as an independent artist in Nuremberg.
His extensive body of work includes painting, drawings, prints, ceramics, tapestries, and art-in-architecture projects. Characteristic of Kaller is the clear order of his works: strictness, contrast, and structure are always combined with a sensitive, almost meditative visual effect. His works are represented in numerous public and private collections and have been awarded various art prizes.
