Description from the seller

This chess set is a reproduction of medieval chess pieces, carved from walrus teeth, found buried under a sandbank in 1831 on the island of Lewis (Scotland) and now preserved at the British Museum and the National Museum of Edinburgh. They are entirely handmade, made from a synthetic material specially developed to closely resemble the ancient one by S.A.C. Ltd, Studio Anne Carlton, (Hull, England). The king's height is 9 cm, and that of the pawns is 4 cm.
They are in perfect condition in their original box.
