In the plot, Bond attempts to locate a missile command system and becomes entangled in the rivalry between two Greek businessmen alongside Melina Havelock, a woman seeking revenge for the murder of her parents. Some elements of the story were inspired by the novels Live and Let Die, Goldfinger, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. For Your Eyes Only had a budget of $28 million and was released on June 24, 1981. Although it received mixed reviews, the film was a box office success, grossing $195.3 million worldwide.
