"DIE HIRTEN FINDEN JESUS IN DER KRIPPE". Captions in 6 six languages (Greek, Latin, English, French, German and Dutch) relating to Luke, II: 16.
Original antique etching (copper plate) drawn by the Dutch painter A. Houbrake, engraved by Van der Gouwen. Beautiful and clear imprint of the etching with impressive light and shadow effect ("Nachtbild") , printed on strong imperial paper with extra large margins. Later hand-colouring.
Margins with minimal age toning here and there, etching absolutely clean. Very good condition.
Size of the illustrated area: 21,2 x 34,4 cm. Whole leaf: 29 x 42.5
