In the illustrated book "À la Recherche du Shoe Perdu." Andy Warhol is inspired for the title by Marcel Proust's famous book.
Each of the image of the portfolio presents a shoe centrally placed on the page and accompanied by a simple line of text, a verbal visual composition that remind us of a conceptual advertising with reference of high and popular culture. "Shoes" became Warhol's signature product and his first group exhibition at New York Museum of Modern Art included a shoe drawing.
