Description from the seller

Beautiful antique molded glass biscuit jar, featuring stunning multicolored reflections that change with the light (golden, bluish, and violet hues).
The body of the pot features a relief decoration resembling scales or reptile skin, very decorative and typical of the late 19th – early 20th century.

The frame, lid, and handle are made of richly decorated silver-toned metal featuring Rocaille and Art Nouveau motifs: scrolls, foliage, flowers, and drapes. The lid's button, shaped like a floral appliqué, is particularly detailed.

The overall condition is harmonious, elegant, and remarkable, with no cracks or chips on the glass. The metal shows only a normal patina related to age, with a few small traces of tarnishing due to use and a small white mark in the molded glass from firing.

Features: French
Estimated period: late 19th – early 20th century.
• Style: Art Nouveau / Rocaille
Materials:
Iridescent molded glass
Mount and handle in silver-colored metal.
Total height: approx. 23 cm
• Decor: Scales-style relief, rainbow iridescence.
Condition: Very good overall condition – glass intact, solid and well-fitted frame.
