Gold Basin is a historical meteorite from the Mojave Desert, United States, weighing 80 g, a complete piece.
Description from the seller
Gold Basin is located in a long and expansive field at the western edge of Arizona. Discovered in 1995, the meteorites were considered normal rocks by gold prospectors, who found them with metal detectors.
Gold Basin is believed to be a meteorite with a very long terrestrial age. It is thought that the meteorites fell before the last ice age, thousands of years ago.
Like type L4, it does not contain a large amount of metallic iron, but it is still enough to attract a magnet or activate a metal detector.
The curious thing is that gold prospectors felt annoyed when their detector emitted a sound signal and then they found a 'simple stone,' which they simply discarded, unaware of the value of the meteorites they had left on the ground.
"Gold Basin" is one of the classic meteorites, with a very interesting history that is present in every meteorite collection. Don't miss this opportunity.
