I am offering for auction a superb compact oil on canvas. signed by the German artist Heinrich Hermanns. The painting depicts a harbour in Amsterdam on a dull grey day. The painting is sighed lower right. The painting carries labels verso and it titled “Grey Day” and dated 1893. This is a very impressive painting which would grace any wall in your home. Biography: Heinrich Hermanns was born Düsseldorf, Germany on the 19th May 1862. He died in 1942 in Düsseldorf. He was a painter of landscapes and marines in both oil and watercolour. He started exhibiting from 1886 in Dresden, Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf where he received a diploma of honour in 1890. His work is represented in the museum of Düsseldorf.
