Description from the seller

This bronze ankle bracelet called konga, worn by high-ranking women, also served as a medium of exchange. They were cast in flat wooden molds, carved with characteristic decorative elements—crests and grooves. The bronze plate was then rounded on a cylindrical wooden form and fitted to the recipient's ankle.

The brown patina and wear of this specimen indicate great antiquity.

Height 14 cm x diameter 11 cm x depth 13 cm. Weight 1.718 kg.
