Su Svnder
After completing his academic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, Svnder dedicated himself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. His work is rooted in classical techniques but is guided by a contemporary sensibility that imbues each subject with poetic depth. His works explore the emotional weight of silence, stillness, and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After his academic training, he traveled across Europe and around the world, immersing himself in different cultures and artistic traditions to further refine his technique and expand his creative vision. This ongoing journey constantly enriches his visual language and intensifies his expressive power.
Inspired by the timeless language of great masters—including Caravaggio, Rembrandt, and Vermeer—his gaze merges tradition and modernity in an ongoing dialogue between memory, body, and symbol.
The subjects of his works range from religious scenes and sacred figures reinterpreted in a contemporary key, to portraits with a strong emotional impact, passing through mythological creatures, fallen angels, saints, martyrs, and allegorical figures. There are also references to classicism, Christian symbolism, Greek mythology, and pop culture filtered with irony. Each composition is constructed like an image suspended in time, where light and darkness, body and spirit, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and deeply human balance.
For me, art is a moment of suspension — a space where time stops and emotions take shape without the need for words.
His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections throughout Europe and around the world.
