Franz L. Lauter (Blomberg, 1947) studied at the art academy in Thorn (Germany). Since 1975, he has been working as an independent artist. His work is characterized not only by fairytale-like colors; if we look a bit further, we discover drama, quality, and an unmistakable intellectual charge. Franz draws inspiration from nature, flowers, and cheerful seasons.
Besides painting, Lauter has another passion: cooking. "I am a painter out of passion and want to discover a new painting technique. I am a cook out of conviction and want to explore new flavor nuances."
Since 1982, Lauter has been the 53rd owner and creative mind behind Schloss Restaurant Nordkirchen, where he and his dedicated team create exceptional culinary experiences. His cuisine combines classic French dishes with Mediterranean and Asian influences, consistently using regional and seasonal organic ingredients.
Lauter has been recognized multiple times in a row by the Schlemmer Atlas as one of the 50 best chefs in Germany. In addition to his work as a top chef, he is also an artist and author: his own cookbooks reflect his passion for culinary excellence and creativity.
The team also regularly organizes murder mystery dinners at Schloss Restaurant Nordkirchen, where culinary excellence is combined with exciting entertainment.
The team around Franz L. Lauter stands out for professionalism, warmth, and attentive service, making every visit to the 'Westphalian Versailles' a special experience.
In recent years, Lauter has also gained a lot of fame as a chef for the stars, television chef, and author of cookbooks.
He has been married to his wife Hanna for 49 years, loves traveling, and is creatively active as a photographer, dancer, and especially painter; his paintings can also be admired in his restaurant. He is thoroughly versatile.
Even now, well over 70, he is often more agile than many seemingly young people! His cheerful and lively manner, combined with his original broken hat, is his trademark.
