Description
Beautiful and authentic Amplion horn speaker from around 1920, featuring a lovely flower-shaped wooden sound cone and a metal curved arm. This type was used as a loudspeaker for early radios and is now highly sought after by collectors of vintage audio, Art Deco, and early technology.
The Amplion brand (Compagnie Continentale Ampliom, Brussels) is known for its high-quality, aesthetic horn speakers. The metal label is still present and clearly legible (Type AR16, no. A120770).
The speaker has a beautiful original patina: the wooden cup is warm in color and evenly finished, the metal arm has a dark aged texture, and the brass foot shows natural wear appropriate to its age.
A decorative and historic object.
