Chelyabinsk meteorite mini individuals, nine pieces weighing 7 g each, originating from Russia.
Description from the seller
The meteor, which was approaching Earth at 18 kilometers per second on February 15, 2013, and was about 20 meters in size, was significantly slowed down by the Earth's atmosphere. The energy released caused a massive explosion whose shockwave damaged 3,700 buildings. The meteor was torn apart, resulting in a meteor shower of thousands of fragments, often just a few grams in weight, but also pieces weighing several kilograms were recovered. The meteorite fall of Chelyabinsk is notable for its intensity and the quality of its video documentation, and it will be referenced in every future literary work on meteorites. Additionally, sound recordings of a superbolide were made for the first time. Chelyabinsk exhibits very different textures; the asteroid was not homogeneous. Some pieces show fine networks of shock veins in light unshocked rock, while others are entirely composed of dark melts and melt breccias formed during earlier asteroid collisions.
