Description from the seller
Dating
Based on the construction (wrought iron, hand-forged, not machine-made), the design (spiral foot, high central stem, simple candle holders), and the overall appearance, this appears to be a hand-forged wrought iron candle holder from around 1920–1940.
This type is more commonly found in rural interiors, French and Flemish farms, and is typical of early 20th-century folk art and artisanal blacksmithing techniques.
Beautiful handcrafted wrought iron candle holder (ca. 1920–1940)
This charming candle holder is entirely handcrafted by a traditional blacksmith, as evident in the beautiful irregularities and artisanal details. The spiral-shaped base gives the piece an elegant, almost sculptural appearance, while the seven candle holders create a warm, atmospheric play of light.
A characterful object that fits perfectly in both country and industrial interiors, or as a focal point on a sideboard, dining table, or fireplace mantel. Thanks to its sturdy construction, it is very stable and ideal for daily use or as a stylish decorative element.
Condition: good condition with appropriate patina for its age.
Material: wrought iron
Origin: probably Western Europe
Period: circa 1920–1940.
Details: hand-forged, decorative spiral foot, seven candle points.
