Janny Meyer was born in the small town of  Andijk  on 25th July 1938. She spent her youth on the farm in the middle of nature.  As a child she showed no interest in dolls or any other toys, instead she preferred her colouring pencils. Her passion for drawing and painting still plays an important role in her life.  Strictly speaking, Janny is self-taught, but  later in life she received private tuition from Jan Visser and H.F. Boot in Haarlem. Her preference lies in small painting with motifs as chickens, ducks, landscapes and cityscapes. Her still lifes however are outstanding, very detailed and sought after. Janny is a very popular artist, her works find their way to collectors and art dealers throughout Europe.
