Skepa est un peintre plasticien et sculpteur Français né en 1978. Cofondateur du mouvement BAFO.
Il est diplômé de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon et a commencé sa première approche avec la peinture par le graffiti au début des années 90 influencé par des artistes comme Basquiat, Seen, Cope2, Harring, Jonone, Condo, Banksy...
Sa rencontre avec Jone Hopper avec lequel il confonde le groupe TBS et d’autres activistes, est un tournant dans son approche l’art.
Au fil des années, sa peinture devient plus expérimentale, plus brute et s’ouvre à de nouvelles frontières. Il tire ses influences de Brauner, Appel, Picasso, Matisse, Buffet, Gauguin, Corneille, Braque et pousse ses recherches de l’art classique à l’art contemporain en passant par le cubisme et l’art moderne.
Plusieurs critiques d’art comparent sa production picturale à un ovni aux multiples tentacules mélangeant avec harmonie un Cubisme organique agrémenté d’une pointe de Figuratif déstructuré en rupture avec la vision aseptisée de l’art contemporain.
Il fait partie des artistes les plus actifs sur le marché de l’art on-line avec une production « vertigineuse » comptant plus de 1200 œuvres tous mediums confondus.
