An important work on the Greek economy published shortly before the Greek War of Independence. Beaujour served as the French consul of Thessalonica from 1787-1797 and was in a privileged role to research the commercial activities of the different regions of Greece. Included in the survey are such cash crops as the tobacco of Macedonia, the grains of Thessaly, and the currants of Corinth. Finished products include Turkish rugs, Greek shirts, and hoods from Zagora.
