If an item exceeds the specified size or weight, it may be shipped in multiple packages. ----- 1976 Montreal Olympic Commemorative Medal Signed Togo Seiji (1897-1978) Seiji Tōgō (1897–1978) was a prominent Japanese painter born in Kagoshima. He held his first solo exhibition at the age of 18 and began his career early. In the 1920s, Tōgō traveled to France, where he encountered European modern art and developed his style. After returning to Japan, he became well known for his distinctive paintings, especially his expressive depictions of the female form. He also worked in printmaking and explored a range of artistic media throughout his life. Tōgō received major honors, including the Japan Art Academy Award, and was highly respected in Japanese art circles. He served as a member of the Japan Art Academy and held leadership roles in art organizations. A dedicated museum in Tokyo preserves many of his works for public viewing. Tōgō passed away in 1978 at the age of 80. He is regarded as an important figure in 20th-century Japanese Western-style art. 3*3cm Total 55g (D1870)
