. Ghaznavid Empire Ibrahim (1059–1099 AD). Gold Dinar (Zonder minimumprijs)
The presented coin is a dinar from the reign of Ibrahim (1059–1099), struck most likely around 1088–1092 (AH 48x) in Ghazna. The coin weighs 4.29 g and is made of debased gold, meaning the alloy contains a lower percentage of pure gold than the standard—typical for some of the later Ghaznavid issues.
The coin features a typical Islamic epigraphic style, with no human figures—both sides are covered with Kufic inscriptions.
On the obverse and reverse, concentric circular borders and inscriptions in the central field are visible, with additional text around the rim. These usually include religious formulas such as the shahada, as well as the name of the ruler and sometimes the minting location.
