Large porcelain figurine depicting a colourful parrot, produced by IRIS Cluj, Romania, one of the most renowned Romanian porcelain manufacturers during the communist period. This piece dates to approximately the 1970s–1980s and was inherited from my grandparents, who owned it since that time. Such figurines were popular decorative objects in Eastern European interiors of the era and are today sought after by collectors of Romanian vintage and mid-century decorative art. The parrot is richly hand-painted in vibrant shades of blue, green, yellow and turquoise, with detailed modelling of the feathers and a glossy glaze finish. The figurine bears the original “Made in Romania – IRIS Cluj” factory mark on the base, confirming its authenticity and origin. Condition: Overall in very good vintage condition, with a well-preserved glaze and strong colours. Please note: one wing has a small chip, which is clearly visible in the last photos provided. This has been taken into account and does not affect the stability of the piece.
