Beschrijving van de verkoper

Description
A finely decorated Chinese porcelain plate from the Yongzheng / early Qianlong period (circa 1725–1750), painted in vibrant famille rose enamels with an unusually elaborate figural landscape scene.

The composition depicts a lively waterside setting populated by thirteen figures, including fishermen and individuals engaged in various daily activities and crafts. The scene offers a fascinating glimpse into idealized life in 18th-century China, with bridges, boats, architecture, and several water birds enriching the landscape.

The plate is painted in a harmonious polychrome palette with refined detail and delicate brushwork. The reverse is left undecorated, which is typical for this type of porcelain from the period.

Examples with such a large number of figures and narrative detail are relatively rare and highly decorative. The enamels remain particularly well preserved for the age, retaining attractive freshness and color.

Age
Yongzheng / early Qianlong period, Qing dynasty (circa 1725–1750)

Measurements
Diameter: 22.5 cm
Height: 3.0 cm

Reference

For reference, a closely related but larger example was sold through Rob Michiels Auctions

Condition
One hairline is present. Additionally, there is very minimal rim fritting; the rim is otherwise in remarkably good condition. The enamels show only light wear consistent with age and remain in very good condition overall. No restorations observed. Please refer carefully to the photographs for details.

All objects are packed with the greatest care and shipped fully insured. All objects are examined carefully under strong UV light. The condition is described with great care, aiming to reflect the actual state of the object as closely as possible.
