Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Bowl on Display Stand – Possibly Recovered from a Shipwreck – Qing Dynasty (18th Century)
A rare Chinese blue and white porcelain bowl, dating to the Qing Dynasty, mounted on a custom-made black metal display stand.
The bowl features hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration and displays extensive marine encrustations, shell deposits, and natural calcareous growth, indicating prolonged submersion at sea. These authentic marine deposits give the piece a unique archaeological appearance and make it an attractive collector’s object.
Mounted on a contemporary metal stand, the bowl is presented as a decorative display piece while preserving its historical character. A fascinating example of Chinese export porcelain, appreciated for both its historical significance and aesthetic appeal.
Dimensions
* Overall height (including stand): 29.5 cm
* Bowl diameter: 14.5 cm
Condition
Good antique condition with marine encrustations, wear, and age-related surface deposits consistent with long-term underwater exposure.
A short hairline crack is visible on the rim.
