The Vito 35 was developed by Karl-Heinz Lange during the period when Voigtländer was owned by Rollei. After Rollei sold the Voigtländer brand in 1981, Lange moved to Balda, where he went on to design the Vito, a compact point-and-shoot camera. These cameras feature zone focusing and programmed automatic exposure.
