Chihei Vol.9 Shunji Dodo etc Chihei/1976/Jpanese/180*250*5 This book is the ninth issue of the photography magazine “Chihei,” which was published for five years from 1972, totaling ten issues. Inspired by ‘Provoke’ around 1970, photographers who repeatedly asked themselves, “What is photography?” “What is the act of taking photographs?” and sought to publish works outside of camera magazines (off-magazineization). During this period, photographers began publishing magazine-style collections of their work in the form of photo books or zines. Among these, ‘Chihei’ stood out for its exceptional quality and received high praise, thanks to the efforts of its members and five years of continuous publication. Centered around members such as Shunji Momoi and Koichi Kurogawa, who were faculty members at Osaka Photography College (Visual Arts College, Osaka), this issue features contributions from both individuals, as well as Masahito Endo (including the cover photo), Seiji Kawashima, Tetsuichi Murakami, Takashi Nakagawa, and Yukinobu Sakuta. In 2018, it was reprinted after 41 years, with issues 11 and 12 being published. (with participants including Momoi and Abe Jun).
