Pippo - Breathe My Name into the Brim
Breathe My Name into the Brim
I waited where the tide unthreads the sky until the wind turned me blue.
It started at the edges—salt on my fingers, my coat drinking the horizon. I knotted the belt as if a loop could anchor a life. One hand held the brim to keep my thoughts from taking wing. Still, the wind repainted me, rinsing my name to a single vowel.
Here, blue is a verb; the world blued me. I tried to hold my seams together, but the gusts found every loose stitch and whispered: wait.
So I waited. Clouds wrote and erased one word—Almost. I watched the place you might appear and practiced our first syllable, the last warm color I remember.
Minute by minute I thinned, learning the language of vanishing, how to speak as undertow. If you come and can’t see me, hear the coat rustle like seagrass. Touch the knot—its light is small but steady. Press your palm to the sleeve; it remembers.
If you arrive, breathe my name into the brim. The wind will carry it back to my chest. Will I see you before I’m gone?

I am:
Pippo (born in Monza) is a contemporary painter exploring the terrain between solitude, elegance, and geometric abstraction, moving fluidly between realism and surrealism. He worked professionally as a graphic designer before devoting himself to painting full-time and settling near Lake Maggiore. Reserved and introspective, he writes privately and prefers his canvases to speak.
His imagery balances stylized figures with geometric order, often casting the human–animal bond in a gently surreal light. Frequently faceless to leave room for the imagination, his characters appear in elegant attire, poised within stark, modernist rooms. Sharp angles, measured negative space, and precise reflections create both boundaries and possibilities, inviting viewers to wonder what lies beyond. A restrained palette—black and white punctuated by decisive color—intensifies the mood, while staged light and recurring motifs, from a solitary moon to a glowing sun, lend quiet, cinematic poetry.
Grounded in the discipline of design, Pippo’s compositions fuse clarity and mystery, bridging realism and surrealism through clean line, calibrated color, and atmospheric stillness. From the calm of Lake Maggiore, he refines a language of elegant economy—using light, geometry, and silence to evoke stories of longing, memory, and contemplative grace.
