Prognathodon anceps was a marine reptile from the group of Mosasaurus.
The longest skull of Prognathodon measure 140 cm circa.
The smallest species was long maximum 5 meters, while the larger ones exceeded 10 meters.
They were ecologically similar predators to killer whales, and certainly fed on fish, cephalopods, and sea turtles.
Their teeth were suitable both for piercing prey, and for breaking bones and shells.
Mosasaurids were the apex marine predators for about 20 million years, during the final phase of the Cretaceous
period.
They became extinct during the Cretaceous-Paleocene Mass Extinction.
You can see a reconstruction of them in Jurassic World.
The tooth will be shipped very well protected.
