C Müller that depict the deployment of formations for every major battle. This a first edition and a rare copy of a reprint by J. U. Cotta, the Younger, at Tübingen, which caused a scandal in the German publishing world. The text is identical to the more common editions from Leipzig and Frankfurt (minus the author’s prologue in which he accuses Cotta of being a thief). The famed J. G. Cotta Publishing House had fallen on hard times and taken to reprinting unauthorized editions. A couple decades later, J. F. Cotta would restore the reputation and prestige of this great Tübingen publisher. A fine collector’s piece either as part of the series or as a standalone memento that marks a controversial moment in the history of the German publishing industry.
