Vesya / Davano - dubbele ring - India (Zonder minimumprijs)
A vintage low-grade silver and copper Vesya (also known as Davano) double ring from Rajasthan
India - Mid 20th century.
This ring is worn across two fingers. It features large bells (gajre) tightly mounted to the main body by threading a wire through their integral loops, an ornamental technique known as 'moti ke gajre kaam'.
The clustered arrangement creates a 'guchchedar' effect, with the silver bell cluster referred to as 'chandi ke gajre ka guchchha'.
This traditional form of bell ornamentation appears on bangles, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, earrings, belts, and anklets. This piece is handcrafted and reflects the distinctive jewelry style of Rajasthan’s nomadic tribes.
