Born from an experimental process, the Waan collection masks, behind its apparent simplicity, a novel textile technique. This type of hand-woven fabric is the result of the work and research of Dutch designer Dienke Dekker.
The Taupe rug from our Waan collection is a piece with a unique fabric that conveys the illusion of a knotted surface. The rug, however, is made on a loom using very thick bicolor yarns, which are obtained by spiraling two wool threads of contrasting colors. Surprisingly, the use of these voluminous yarns on a loom results in a fabric that looks like a succession of knots.
