A magnificent and imposing 19th-century Qing Dynasty porcelain vase in the classic "Rouleau" (Bangchuiping) form. This piece is a high-quality "revival" work, masterfully executed in the revered style of the Kangxi period (1662–1722). Standing at an impressive 49 cm (approx. 19.3 inches), this "Paper-roll" shaped vase features a cylindrical body, angled shoulders, and a tall neck terminating in a galleried (flattened) rim. The Narrative Scene: The body is vibrantly hand-painted in the Famille Verte (green family) palette. It depicts a continuous "Figure Story" (Renwu) scene of Court Ladies (Meiren) and children on a fenced garden terrace. The scene is rich with scholar's objects, traditional architecture, and a gnarled pine tree (symbolizing longevity) under swirling Ruyi clouds. As you turn the vase, the architecture gives way to more natural elements, showing the continuation of the terrace and additional figures, likely attendants or children engaged in play, which reinforces themes of happiness and family prosperity. Neck: Decorated with a delicate "Mountain and Water" (Shanshui) landscape. Shoulder: Features a complex geometric diaper-pattern band punctuated by four floral cartouches (small decorative panels). Rim: Finished with a classic green key-fret border. The base features a hand-written six-character apocryphal Kangxi mark (Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi) in underglaze blue, set within a double circle.
