Spazierstock - .925 Silber - Birmingham 1927
Gentleman’s walking cane fitted with a sterling silver terminal hallmarked for Birmingham, 1927. The silver mount bears clear British assay marks, including the lion passant confirming sterling silver standard, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the corresponding date letter for 1927.
The crook handle is crafted from a single piece of hardwood, smoothly curved and well proportioned, offering a comfortable and balanced grip. The silver terminal is neatly fitted to the end of the handle and shows natural surface wear and patina consistent with age and use.
The cane features a straight hardwood shaft with an attractive warm brown tone and visible natural grain. The shaft is solid, straight and structurally sound, showing surface wear, small marks and patina from long-term use. The cane retains its original ferrule, displaying appropriate wear and confirming originality.
A clean and honest example of a British interwar walking cane, valued for its fully hallmarked Birmingham silver fitting and classic crook-handle form.
Good antique condition, consistent with age. The sterling silver terminal shows surface wear, light scratches and patina. The hardwood handle and shaft show age-related wear, small marks and minor surface imperfections, with no structural damage. The original ferrule shows expected wear from use.
