Kato Kozan Kato Kozan - Küchenmesser - Feinschleifstein - Stein - Japan - Japanischer Natur-Schleifstein

Japanese Nakayama Kyoto Natural Finishing Whetstone – Kato Kozan Mark – Vintage Natural Sharpening Stone – approx. 310 g A genuine Japanese natural finishing whetstone from the famous Nakayama mine in Kyoto, one of the most respected sources of premium sharpening stones in Japan. Nakayama stones are highly valued among professional sharpeners and collectors for their exceptional finishing capability on high-quality Japanese knives, razors, and tools. This stone bears the mark of Kato Kozan, a historical distributor known for handling high-grade Kyoto natural whetstones. Since the Nakayama mine is no longer actively producing stones, authentic examples have become increasingly rare. The stone displays a beautiful golden-beige natural surface with visible geological layers and mineral patterns typical of genuine Nakayama finishing stones. A dark line visible on the surface is a natural mineral line and not a structural crack, and it does not affect usability. The sides and back retain natural quarry textures, adding to the authenticity and collector appeal of the stone. A compact and dense finishing stone suitable for polishing knives, razors, and tools, and also an excellent collectible example of Kyoto sharpening stone heritage.
