1960s pendant lamp is composed of two concentric brushed aluminium cylinders. A long, slender upper cylinder is joined to a wider lower shade by three discrete horizontal pin-supports, creating a "floating" architectural effect characteristic of the Space Age era. A notable design feature is the thick, clear Plexiglass (perspex) disc at the top of the slender cylinder, which serves as both a structural element for the cable grip and a subtle light-diffusing detail. The interior of the lower cylinder is finished in a vibrant orange lacquer. When lit, this interior reflects a warm, atmospheric glow, contrasting beautifully with the cool, industrial exterior of the brushed aluminium. The lamp is in good vintage condition. The brushed aluminium surfaces show minor signs of handling and light surface scratches consistent with a 60-year-old object. The orange interior remains bright with minimal heat-related discolouration and minor paint loss. It comes with a matching conical aluminium ceiling rose.
