Solid plain ring band. -> Pseudo-runes, or runiform markings, are angular incised signs that resemble runic characters but do not form readable inscriptions. They occur as decorative motifs rather than true writing. Because runes themselves consist mainly of straight linear strokes, geometric engravings can easily evoke their appearance. Similar runiform designs appear on objects from the Migration Period and Viking Age, often imitating the visual style of runic script without conveying linguistic meaning.
