The Yuan Dynasty was established by the Mongol nobility who took over the Central Plains. In its early years, copper coins were banned, and paper money was used instead. It wasn't until the second year of Wuzong's reign (1309 AD) that coin minting was resumed, with the minting taking place in the third and fourth years of Zhida (1310-1311 AD). The inscription on the coin is in regular script and reads directly, with a distinctly deep border, making it a very special ancient coin. Notably, the Yuan Dynasty was a time in Chinese history when foreign powers ruled, leading to different languages and scripts, and initially, only coins were used, with paper money being promoted.
