VISIUC S.A. - Dessertservice (7) - Alpaka-Silberplattiert; E.P.B. Silberplattiert - Dessert- oder Eiscreme-Set

This exquisite serving set stands out for its mid-century design, combining classic functionality with sophisticated ornamental aesthetics. It is an ideal piece for collectors of Spanish silverware or for those seeking to elevate their table setting. -Origin: Spain. -Manufacturer: Visiuc S.A. (glasses) and Spanish silversmiths (tray). -Style: Eclectic with strong Spanish Baroque influences, visible in the Solomonic columns (twists) of the glasses and the corded rim of the tray. -Period: Mid-20th Century (ca. 1950-1960). -Material and Technique: *Coups: Silver-plated metal, [EPB (equivalent to EPNS)= Electroplated] *Tray: Silver-plated Alpaca, known as German silver or Maillechort in France. *Marks: *Cups stamped on the base: "VISIUC S.A. – E.P.B. – SPAIN". *Tray engraved on the rim: "ALPACA" (in the photo inside a yellow square). -Dimensions *Cups (6 units): Height: 14.2 cm Mouth diameter: 10.8 cm Base diameter: 8 cm *Tray: Total length (with handles): 48.7 cm Length without handles: 40.3 cm Width: 34.2 cm Handle width: 14.5 cm -Condition: The set is in excellent vintage condition. The silver plating retains an exceptional shine, and the reliefs on the stems show no significant wear. However, it should be noted that the interior of the cups exhibits a natural darkening (patina) due to age, a characteristic of silver-plated pieces from this period. The tray shows minimal signs of use consistent with its age, maintaining a highly reflective surface and no dents. -Utility and versatility *Although originally designed as a dessert or ice cream set due to the "coupé" shape of its coups, it allows for a secure grip, and its versatility allows it to be used to serve seafood cocktails, sorbets, or even as wine/champagne glasses in a classic formal setting.
