In “Chromatic Flesh”, I explore the human body as a living field of color, sensation, and psychological presence. I did not aim to simply depict the figure — I wanted to construct it through color itself, where flesh becomes a spectrum rather than a fixed form. I paid particular attention to anatomical precision, using it as a foundation. However, my intention was to go beyond classical realism. I built the body through the interaction of warm and cool tones, allowing color to shape volume, tension, and emotion. The skin is not neutral — it vibrates, breathes, and carries an inner energy. The background plays an essential role in the composition. I introduced a rich ornamental intensity with vivid reds, oranges, and deep blues to create a contrast with the cooler tones of the figure. This contrast establishes a dynamic dialogue between the body and its surroundings — between inner state and external environment. I worked with thick, expressive brushstrokes to create a tactile, almost sculptural surface. The relief of the paint allows light to interact with the work, reinforcing the physical presence of the body. I wanted the figure to feel not only seen, but almost tangible. The direct gaze of the model was important to me. It creates a quiet but persistent tension, inviting the viewer into an intimate and slightly confrontational moment — a space where vulnerability and strength coexist. With this work, I aim to unite classical figurative discipline with a contemporary, expressive language of color and material.
