Artist Profile
Maeda Chikubosai II (二代 前田竹房斎) (1917–2003) was a prominent bamboo artist from Osaka and the successor to the Maeda bamboo craft lineage. He continued the refined techniques developed by the first generation, producing elegant bamboo flower baskets for tea ceremony and ikebana. His works are appreciated for their precise weaving, balanced forms, and deep lacquer finishes that emphasize the natural beauty of bamboo.
