• Material: bronze
• Size: 26 × 22 mm
• Weight: 4.8 g
• Period: 9th–10th century (Viking Age)
• Condition: well preserved; stable natural patina; clear and defined shape
• Origin: Scandinavia / Eastern Europe
• Provenance: European antiquities market, private collection
• Additional: leather cord included as a gift upon request
Shipping: within the European Union only
This authentic axe-shaped amulet originates from the Viking Age — a time when such objects were worn as personal protective symbols. The axe was not only a tool or weapon, but also a sign of strength, courage and readiness to defend family and honor.
In Norse tradition, the axe is closely associated with Thor — the protector against chaos and enemies. Amulets of this type were worn as talismans to bring strength and protection to the wearer.
The surface is covered with a genuine patina formed over centuries. No aggressive cleaning. No modern restoration. Only authentic traces of time.
Such pieces are becoming increasingly rare. Most are already held in established private collections. This example offers the opportunity to own a tangible fragment of the Viking Age.
Today, the amulet can be worn or displayed as a striking collectible.
